Making dream smile a reality
Digital X-rays are one of the advanced diagnostic tools we use in our office to provide you with the best possible care. Digital radiography has changed the way we take dental X-rays by making the process faster, more comfortable and more convenient than ever before. Digital X-rays use a digital sensor to take images of your teeth, unlike traditional X-rays that use film. We can instantly view the high-quality images on monitors right in the treatment room to provide you with efficient, accurate diagnoses and care.Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than conventional film X-rays and require the use of no chemicals for developing the images.
Dental x-rays provide us with a deeper look at teeth than is possible with the naked eye. There is only so much that a clinical examination can reveal about your teeth. To provide the best preventative dental care, we use radiographs from time to time. There are multiple types of dental x-rays, and they all provide a unique look at your teeth and bones. In addition, dental x-rays provide information to dentists about a patient’s risk for more serious and potentially life-threatening conditions. Early detection of these problems can help you avoid pain, minimize further damage to your teeth, and potentially save your life. Some of the common and more serious problems that dental x-rays detect include:
● Decay in between teeth
● Gum (periodontal) disease
● Developmental abnormalities
● Improper tooth root positioning
● Injury
● Fracture in existing filling
● Cysts and abscesses
● Tumors
●Bone loss
At our office, we follow the extensive infection control recommendations outlined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We go above and beyond many of these requirements because we are dedicated to protecting the health and safety of our patients, as well as that of our team.
These infection control and safety measures include:
● Eye protection for patients and team members
● Disinfectant hand soap
● Gloves and face masks
● Chemical disinfection of countertops and surfaces
● Sterilization of all equipment before every use
Our staff sterilizes all reusable equipment after each use, including handpieces. We use an autoclave, which is a device that kills bacteria and viruses by steam, heat and pressure. When possible, we use disposable materials and tools to eliminate the risk of cross contamination through reuse.
Your health and comfort are our top priorities, and you can rest assured that we take all of the necessary steps to protect you and your family while you are with us.
An intraoral camera is a tool we use to get a closer look at different parts of your smile. The intraoral camera is a small, pen-shaped device that we can use to take high-quality color photos of your teeth and gums, as well as other areas of your mouth as needed. Because the intraoral camera is so small and easily maneuverable, we can use it to see angles in your mouth that we cannot easily view with the unaided eye. We may utilize the intraoral camera to better evaluate your oral health and diagnose dental problems like tooth decay and periodontal disease, as well as tooth damage like a cracked or chipped tooth. The intraoral camera is also useful in following up after a treatment has been completed.
Ultrasonic scalers are used during our cleaning services to provide a more comfortable and efficient dental experience. As you eat and drink, plaque and food debris build up on your teeth. If plaque is not removed within 24 hours, it hardens into dental calculus, or tartar, which can only be removed by a dental professional. At our office, we use ultrasonic scalers to remove the built-up plaque and tartar, keeping your teeth clean and your smile healthy. The ultrasonic scaler is more comfortable and faster than a traditional scaling tool. You may feel some vibrations from the tool, but it is not an uncomfortable process and does not require any numbing anesthetic.
The iTero scanner is a digital intraoral scanning system used in dentistry for capturing highly accurate and detailed 3D images of a patient's teeth and oral structures. It replaces the traditional method of taking physical impressions using dental putty or trays.
During the scanning process, the dentist or dental assistant will use a handheld wand to scan the patient's teeth. The wand emits a laser or light source that captures thousands of images per second, creating a comprehensive digital impression. The scanner is moved over the teeth and around the mouth, capturing the necessary data from multiple angles.
The iTero scanner offers several advantages over traditional impression methods:
a. Improved Comfort
b. Accurate and Detailed Impressions:
c. Real-Time Visualization:
d. Faster Turnaround Time to dental laboratories for fabrication of dental restoration or aligners.
e. Reduced Need for Remakes:
The iTero scanner is used in various dental procedures, including orthodontic treatments (Invisalign), restorative dentistry (crowns, bridges, veneers), implant planning, and monitoring of treatment progress.
